Anadolu Agency is set to launch its Macedonian wire service and open an office in the Macedonian capital Skopje on Nov. 9 as part of its centennial vision to rank among the world's five most influential news agencies by 2020.
The inclusion of the new service will bring the agency's broadcasting languages to 10, including Turkish, English, Arabic, Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian (BCS), Russian, Kurdish/Sorani, French, Albanian and Persian.
The Skopje office will be the broadcasting center of Macedonian and Albanian wire services.
Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Yalcin Akdogan, Anadolu Agency's Board Chairman and Director General Senol Kazanci, as well as Turkish and Macedonian bureaucrats, and journalists are expected to attend the official opening ceremony of the Skopje office.
Following the ceremony, Macedonian news, photographs and videos will be provided to Anadolu Agency's subscribers.
Macedonian broadcasts will also be available to the public on the AA website link: http://www.aa.com.tr/mk.
Anadolu Agency aims to bring a breath of fresh air to the Macedonian media landscape with its principles of being “reliable, impartial, ethical and fast”.
It is among the agency’s goals to broadcast news in 11 languages by 2020, the year of its centennial anniversary.
