Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on Tuesday hailed "distinguished" relations between the kingdom and Turkey.
Speaking during a meeting with visiting Turkish parliament speaker Cemil Cicek, the Bahrain monarch said Bahrain-Turkish relations are based on "mutual cooperation and respect", according to the Bahraini news agency.
He praised Turkish efforts under President Abdullah Gul to bolster peace, security and stability for serving the good of the Islamic world.
Tuesday's meeting tackled bilateral relations between Bahrain and Turkey along with a host of regional and international issues.
Cicek arrived in Bahrain from Kuwait earlier Tuesday for a two-day visit.
