Turkish parliament spokesman Cicek on Monday received students participating in the 11th Turkish Olympics, a contest that hosts students coming from Turkish educational institutions in 20 countries.
Speaking at the meeting, Cicek thanked those who contributed in the project, saying that Cicek noted that they will come together with students of Turkish Olympics in Eskisehir, a central Anatolian city which is also the Culture and Arts Capital of the Turkic World for 2013.
Turkish Olympics public relations coordinator Hasan Ayasun said the event began with 17 countries 11 years ago and it grew to be a world-wide contest with over two thousand students from 140 countries.
Students from South Korea, Georgia, Bosnia&Herzegovina, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Tunisia, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan and the United States were present at Monday's meeting.
Participants of the Turkish Olympics sing songs and recite poetry that find their place in Turkish literature and popular culture, as well as performing folk dance shows.
