Colombia welcomes Erdogan with military-style ceremony

BOGOTA, Colombia 

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who arrived in Colombia’s capital Bogota Monday, was welcomed by President Juan Manuel Santos Calderon Tuesday in a military-style ceremony.

Erdogan and Calderon recited the national anthems and held closed meetings. The two leaders are set to hold a joint press conference later on Tuesday and will attend a signing agreement for a number of joint projects.

Erdogan is accompanied by his wife and daughter, Emine and Sumeyye Erdogan, as well as Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, Food, Agriculture and Livestock Minister Mehdi Eker, Culture and Tourism Minister Omer Celik and Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci.
