ANKARA
Fourteen people suspected of involvement in last week’s Ankara bomb attack that killed 28 were remanded in custody Sunday pending trial, according to judicial sources.
They are charged with assisting a terror organization and forging official documents, the source said on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on speaking to the media. A trial date was not set.
Another seven suspects were released after questioning by the court in Ankara.
Last Wednesday’s evening rush hour attack on buses carrying military personnel in the heart of the Turkish capital injured dozens.
The Turkish government has said the attack was carried out by Syrian national Salih Necar, a member of the Kurdish YPG group fighting in Syria and affiliated to the PKK. Both groups are considered terrorist organizations by Turkey.
