Galatasaray knocks Juve out of Champions League

ANKARA

Galatasaray defeated Juventus on Wednesday in Champions League Group B match, which was postponed after heavy snowfall at the TT Arena Stadium in Istanbul on Tuesday.

Galatasaray's Dutch star Wesley Sneijder took Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon unaware at 85th minute, and knocked Juventus out of the Champions League.

Portuguese referee Pedro Proenca had ordered yesterday both teams off the pitch to allow the lines to be cleared by ground staff, and later had postponed the match.

Galatasary took second place in Group B of Champions League and qualified for the next round.

Meanwhile, Juventus took the third place with 6 points and will go on its way in UEFA Europa League.

Round of 16 draws of Champions League will be in Nyon on December 16, 2013 at 12.00 hours (Swiss local time).
