ANKARA
Turkish Health Minister Recep Akdag had a meeting with Sudanese Minister of Health, Bahr Idriss Abu Garda in the Turkish capital of Ankara on Monday. After the meeting, Akdag told reporters that Turkey would meet 60 percent of operating expenses of a newly-constructed hospital in Sudan for five years. Akdag said that Turkish physicians and health personnel would give training in this hospital. Garda said that Turkey extended great support to Sudan in every field including the health sector. Turkey achieved great progress in the health area in the past decade and Sudan was eager to benefit from experiences of Turkey, Garda said. Turkish and Sudanese parties signed a cooperation protocol at the end of the press conference.
