Turkey’s Transport Ministry decided Thursday to restrict maritime traffic on the Bosphorus Strait due to strong winds.
Vessels below a certain size will be allowed on the Bosphorus, said the source on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on speaking to the media
In particular, vessels less than 200 meters (656 feet) in length will be allowed to cross, the source added.
The move comes after Turkey’s General Directorate of Meteorology warned of heavy winds for Istanbul as well as the northwestern province of Yalova.
