Turkey's Economy Ministry said 57 percent of the 31,899 companies with international capital operating in Turkey were in Istanbul in January-November 2012.
According to the ministry data, 31,899 companies with international capital had been operating in Turkey as of the end of November 2012, and 57 percent of it, or 18,373 companies are in Istanbul. Southern province Antalya and capital Ankara follow Istanbul respectively.
32 percent of those companies operate in wholesale and retail trade sector, 16 percent are in real estate rental sector, and 15 percent are in industrial production sector.
