LONDON
The London Turkish Film Festival began on Thursday with a gala night.
The festival began with the premier of "Kelebegin Ruyasi" (Dream of Butterfly).
The gala night at the Odeon West End cinema in London's Leicester Square was attended by the Turkish Ambassador in London Unal Cevikoz, Turkish actor Kadir Inanir, director of the "Kelebegin Ruyasi" Yilmaz Erdogan and the actors of the film including Kivanc Tatlitug, Belcim Bilgin and many other guests.
Kadir Inanir was presented a "Life Time Achievement Award" while the director Reis Celik's film "Lal Gece" received the Golden Wings Digiturk Digital Distribution award.
The London Turkish Film Festival will continue until March 3 in three different theatres. More than 20 films, documentaries and short films will be on display at the festival.
This is the 18th time that the festival takes place in London.
