ANKARA (AA) - September 17, 2012 - Meeting between Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Martin E. Dempsey and Chief of the Turkish General Staff Gen. Necdet Ozel focused on cooperation in combating terrorism, intelligence sharing and regional issues.
A statement posted on the website of Turkish General Staff said on Monday that Gen. Dempsey was paying a visit to Turkey as the guest of Gen. Ozel on September 16-18.
It said that regional issues, the two countries' relations under NATO, the latest developments in Afghanistan, cooperation in combating terrorism and intelligence sharing were discussed in the meeting between Gen. Ozel and Gen. Dempsey.
