RAMALLAH (AA) - Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said Tuesday he is ready to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu "anytime and anywhere".
Abbas' remark was in response to Netanyahu words earlier that he could meet Abbas "in a tent between Jerusalem and Ramallah."
Speaking in a joint press conference after a meeting with Italian Prime Minister Enrico Letta in Italy, Abbas said he considered Israel as a neighboring country, adding Palestine and Israel could live together in peace.
Middle East peace has gained a recent momentum after US Secretary of the State John Kerry's visit to the region, as Abbas called Netanyahu "to hurry up because time is of the essence."
"Kerry made beneficial and positive proposals, however, these offers need to be more explanatory and enlightening. I find Kerry's resolute attitude and determination to complete his task hope-inspiring," Abbas said.
