Replica of Bilge Khagan's monument erected in Turkish capital

ANKARA

The opening ceremony of Replica of Bilge Khagan's monument organised by the International Organisation of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) was held on Thursday at TURKSOY's yard in the Turkish capital Ankara.

The ceremony was attended by professional dancers from almost 30 Turkic republics and communities.
Replica of the monument was made by a Azerbaijani sculptor Said Rustem.
Bilge Khagan monument was erected in 735 in honor of Bilge Khagan who was the prince of second Turkish Khaganate. Khagan's accomplishments were written on the Orkhon inscriptions which are memorial monuments erected by Gokturks written in old Turkic alphabet.
