Retired Gen. Cevik Bir released in "postmodern coup" case

ANKARA

Turkey court released on Thursday 5 suspects including General Cevik Bir in the 'postmodern coup' trial under condition of judicial supervision. 

The president of 13th High Criminal Court in Ankara, Tayyar Koksal stated that the then Deputy Chief of General Staff retired General Cevik Bir, the then Secretary General of the Turkish General Staff retired Major General Erol Ozkasnak, retired General Cetin Dogan, retired Major General Kenan Deniz, retired Brigadier General Idris Koralp have been released under condition of judicial supervision. 

The defendant generals have been banned on leaving the country, and they have been stipulated to append a signature once in every fifteen days. 

The defendant generals will be released from Sincan prison except former General Cetin Dogan, who has been sentenced to prison in an other coup case.
