WASHINGTON/CHICAGO
Turkish Ambassador in Washington Namik Tan called on the international community to immediately act on Syria.
Speaking at the think tank organization Chicago Council on Global Affairs on Friday, Tan stressed that "we saw the film in Syria in Iraq, Afghanistan and Lebanon previously."
"Permitting history to repeat itself can not be an option and should not be an option," Tan underlined.
"Domestic explosion in Syria will create a black hole which would hurt international peace and stability in an irreversible way," Tan noted.
Our expectation from our allies is to make serious efforts to solve the Syrian problem and make meaningful contributions, Tan also said.
