ISTANBUL (AA) - September 5, 2012 - A Syrian activist Ahmad Mihho has said that Bashar Al-Assad army was bombarding areas where both opposition groups and regime supporters were staying in Aleppo.
Speaking to Anadolu Agency (AA) correspondent on Wednesday, activist Mihho said that he had been in Aleppo for a month to ensure coordination among opposition groups.
Stating that a number of people from Syrian army sneaked into Free Syrian Army, Mihho noted that those were not having any common interest with members of opposition groups in terms of moral, ideology and aim.
"Two thirds of the Aleppo is under control of opponents. Bashar Al-Assad Army cannot get out of southern and western regions where the army is located. Air strike is the only thing they can do, and it causes death of civilians rather than soldiers. Not only Turkey and Arab countries have a duty on Syrians' struggle for freedom but also whole world have a duty. Artillery assistance should be made to opposition groups to fight against air bombarding," Mihho said.
Mihho stated that life in Aleppo was about to stop, "Majority of the shops were closed. People have difficulty in finding food items. There is a need for medical assistance as the hospitals were hit in the city," he added.
Mihho also said that people left their homes due to severe violence and now they were living in the rural areas of the city.
