LATAKIA
Syria's Latakia city right across from Turkey's southern town of Yayladagi hosts many Syrian citizens who fled from the heavy attacks in their country.
Syrians, most of whom are women and children, left their homes and fled from the attacks perpetrated by Assad forces.
They try to survive without electricity and water and fight against cold weather, hunger and diseases.
Civil war victims try to survive with the help of aid organisations such as Turkish Red Crescent.
Some Syrians set up tents and some others stay in abandoned homes in nearby residential districts in Latakia.
One of the residents in the region, Fadima Ahrar told AA that she was staying in a tent with her two children and six grandchildren and added, "We are lack in food. So we have one meal a day."
Ahrar underlined that the children went to sleep hungry and stated, "Assad attacked us brutally, destroying our homes, all our belongings. We have nowhere else to go, so we have fled to here."
She said that they were trying to survive as the relief aid went from Turkey, adding, "We are grateful to Turkey and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan for their assistance to Syrians."
