ORDU
Turkey's Interior Minister Idris Naim Sahin on Friday said that the continuation of terror incidents are not regarded as developments that may block Turkey's European Union (EU) membership process.
On the contrary, as part of the positive agenda that we discussed today, we will pay more attention to counter-terrorism, Sahin stressed.
The 26th meeting of the Reform Monitoring Group took place in north-eastern province of Ordu and was hosted by Idris Naim Sahin on Friday.
Following the meeting, Sahin, Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, Justice Minister Sadullah Ergin, and EU Minister and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis held a press conference.
Speaking at the press conference, Idris Naim Sahin said that they discussed Turkey's EU membership negotiations process and the political obstructions.
We handled issues pertaining to the "Positive Agenda" that was initiated on May 17, Sahin noted.
Touching on efforts made for a new constitution in Turkey, Sahin indicated that a draft constitution would be presented to the public opinion to get their views.
The support of all segments of the Turkish society to the constitutional process carries high importance, Sahin also said.
