Three Turkish cabinet members discussed energy, health and water issues on an official visit to theTurkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) on Friday.
Deputy Prime Minister Besir Atalay, Energy Minister Taner Yildiz and Forestry and Water Affairs Minister Veysel Eroglu held a meeting with Turkish Cypriot President Dervis Eroglu in Lefkosa.
Atalay said the construction of a dam in Girne in the TRNC -- part of a 106 km-long dam-to-dam water pipeline project to bring water from Turkey -- was set to begin on Saturday.
The planned undersea pipeline will supply 75 million cubic meters of water per year to the TRNC.
Atalay also announced a health system regulation enabling Turkish citizens residing in the TRNC to cover their health expenses through the Turkish social security system.
"An important deal of health-revenue will be transferred to Northern Cyprus," said the deputy prime minister.
