Turkey: 2 soldiers martyred in PKK terror attack
One more soldier injured in eastern Hakkari province
ANKARA
Two Turkish soldiers were martyred and another injured in a PKK terrorist attack in eastern Turkey, the National Defense Ministry said on Tuesday.
PKK terrorists targeted a military vehicle in Hakkari province, which borders Iran and Iraq, the ministry said in a written statement.
A counter-terrorism operation is ongoing in the region, the statement added.
In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU -- has been responsible for the deaths of some 40,000 people, including women, children and infants.
