BAKU, Azerbaijan
Members of Turkey’s armed forces took part in military exercises with Azerbaijan’s army on Monday, according to the government in Baku.
The exercises took place in Nakhchivan, an exclave of Azerbaijan, and are the latest in a series of joint military drills by the neighboring states.
These maneuvers are expected to end on Friday.
Azerbaijan’s defense ministry said Monday’s activity was in line with previous agreements signed between the two countries.
In 2015, Turkey, Azerbaijan and Georgia signed a memorandum of understanding in a bid to enhance peace, welfare and stability in the region.
