ANKARA
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Saturday said that Turkey completed each year better than the previous one since 2002, when the Justice and Development (AK) Party took power.
Addressing the Turkish nation on TV channels, Erdogan said that they began each year with greater hopes and greater goals.
Among the projects we have initiated in 2012 was the demolition of buildings that posed a risk in natural disasters, Erdogan noted.
In only a period of one year, we have distributed the keys of 15,341 residences to owners in the eastern province of Van which was hit by a major earthquake in late 2011, Erdogan stressed.
"We never see a limit and do not get tired in serving the nation and in strengthening our civilization. We continue, with no interruption, to work and to produce," Erdogan stated.
"As a country and as a nation, there is no work we can not accomplish or a goal that we can not reach. I want, especially our youth, to believe in this and have self-confidence. I know that our youth have the belief and self-confidence," Erdogan indicated.
"To date, we have stood firm. We have created a Turkey whose flag gets hoisted with pride, whose passport and currency get respected and who is a hope for the innocent and the oppressed. We have the strength to do even better," Erdogan also said.
