BELGRADE
Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu met his Serbian counterpart Ivan Mrkic as part of his official visit Friday.
Davutoglu was welcomed at the Foreign Ministry by Mrkic.
Davutoglu stated that they considered Serbia as "a neighbor" although they did not have common borders and "a strategic partner" in the international arena.
"The good relations between Turkey and Serbia contribute to regional stability" Davutoglu added.
Reminding that the foreign trade volume between Turkey and Serbia was 550 million dollars, Davutoglu said, it could reach one billion in a few years.
Serbian Foreign Minister also touched on the good relations between Turey and Serbia and said Serbian Presiden Nikolic's visit would be an indicator of their friendship.
Davutoglu is to meet with Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign & Domestic Trade & Telecommunications Rasim Ljajic, and with Sulejman Ugljanin, state minister, during his stay.

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu on Friday has arrived in the Serbian capital of Belgrade for an official visit.
Davutoglu was welcomed by Turkey's Ambassador in Belgrade Mehmet Kemal Bozay at the Nikola Tesla Airport.
Davutoglu is to meet with Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic, Foreign Minister Ivan Mrkic, Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign & Domestic Trade & Telecommunications Rasim Ljajic, and with Sulejman Ugljanin, state minister, during his stay.
Davutoglu is also to attend the luncheon organized in his honor by his Serbian counterpart on Friday.
