Turkey issues criminal records in Danish, Portuguese

ANKARA

Turkey's online government portal e-Government Gateway, a website that provides official documents for citizens and foreigners living in the country, now issues criminal records in both Portuguese and Danish.

According to the information from Justice Ministry's Directorate General of Criminal Records and Statistics, the issuance of criminal records translated in different languages through the internet began on March 20, 2017 on the e-Government Gateway.

Currently, the portal provides translations in a total of eight languages, including English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Dutch.

As of today, 225,627 criminal records were issued in English, 13,090 in French, 25,571 in German, 4,724 in Italian, 2,566 in Spanish and 2,168 in Dutch.

In the first two days of the service in Portuguese and Danish, 18 criminal records in Danish and 42 in Portuguese were issued.

The portal can be accessed at www.turkiye.gov.tr in English and Turkish languages.
