The Minimum Wage Determination Commission on Wednesday agreed to an increase in the minimum wage of 30 percent, Minister of Labor and Social Security Suleyman Soylu told the press.
The Commission, which consisted of representatives from government, workers and employers, agreed to raise the minimum wage to 1300 liras ($446) per month, Soylu said.
Before the November elections ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party government had pledged to raise the minimum wage in Turkey to 1,300 Turkish liras ($446) per month from 949 Turkish liras ($326) per month.
