ANKARA

Turkey welcomed newly formed Yemeni government which was announced Friday under President Mansour Hadi and Prime Minister Khaled Bahah.

The announcement of the new government ended two weeks of deadlock among Yemen's political factions over the formation of the Cabinet.

Releasing a statement Saturday, the Turkish Foreign Ministry urged parties in Yemen to give "full support" to the Yemeni president and prime minister, along with establishing a secure, peaceful and a stable environment in the country.

The new Cabinet includes 37 ministers, including the prime minister, according to Yemeni television.

There are 29 newcomers in the government, while seven ministers have retained their posts.

Yemen has recently appeared to teeter on the verge of civil war as Shiite Houthis seek to expand their influence beyond capital Sanaa -- where they assumed control in September -- to other parts of the country.

The growing Houthi influence has pitted the Shiite movement against Al-Qaeda, which is said to remain active in politically fractious Yemen.

Recent fighting between the warring camps in the country's central and western regions has left dozens dead.
