Davutoglu gave a speech at the opening ceremony of Global Counter terrorism Forum (GCTF) Ministerial Level Plenary in Abu Dhabi.
Davutoglu said that Turkey put in all efforts to establish peace and stability in the region and said, "As a country which suffered a lot and unfortunately keeps suffering from terrorism, our struggle against this threat pushes us to the front rows in fighting against global terrorism. This is also why we have taken the active role in GCTF as co-president."
Davutoglu also spoke to AA after the forum meeting
"One of the most important objectives of the Turkish foreign policy is to secure an international solidarity and will to struggle against terrorism," Davutoglu told The Anadolu Agency in Abu Dhabi where he participated in the Third Global Counterterrorism Forum (GCTF).
Davutoglu said forum meeting was an important event for Turkey to raise up the counterterrorism issue to the global arena as a country which had suffered greatly from PKK terrorism.
Separately, the Turkish foreign minister met with Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Diplomatic sources said Davutoglu and al Nahyan discussed counterterrorism efforts and also the Syria crisis as well as other developments in the region.
Davutoglu later met separately with his Indonesian and Qatari counterparts as well as with deputy foreign minister of Saudi Arabia.
After concluding his talks, Davutoglu departed from Abu Dhabi.
