Kotil will perform this task for two years in accordance with a resolution given by AEA Leadership Summit which was held in Brussels.
The new chairman Kotil, speaking to Anadolu Agency, expressed his happiness adding, "It is a good feeling to be a chairman of an association of companies in Europe as a director general of successful company [THY]."
Kotil said THY somehow entered in European Union (EU) and underlined THY is a successful company and the essence of the matter was morale rather than cost.
Temel Kotil is an aeronautical engineer and has been serving as the Director General and CEO of the Turkish Airlines since April 2005.
The Association of European Airlines (AEA) brings together 31 major airlines such as British Airways, Air France, KLM, SAS and Lufthansa as well as THY, and has been the voice of the European airline industry for over 50 years.
