MOGADISHU (AA) - September 16, 2012 - Turkish surgeons, who have been working under difficult circumstances in Somalia, performed eye surgery with flashlight due to a power cut.
Turkish and Somali doctors will perform cataract surgery on 2,000 Somali people within the scope of "Africa Cataract Project" conducted by the World Health Organization (WHO) and IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation, an aid organization in Turkey, in Mogadishu.
A power failure at the hospital forced surgeons to operate by flashlight.
Surgeon Hasan Huseyin Uysal said that they were working under very difficult conditions in Mogadishu.
