ANKARA

Turkish military killed 4 PKK terrorists in air-backed counter-terrorism operations in northern Iraq, the military said on Tuesday.

In a statement, the Turkish General Staff said the operation against the terrorist group was carried out on Monday in Hakurk region of northern Iraq.

Since the mid-1980s, the PKK has waged a wide-ranging terror campaign against the Turkish state in which an estimated 40,000 people have been killed.
