At least 179 members of the Turkish Police Service serve in UN Peacekeeping Operations, Development Program, UN Office on Drugs and Crime.
According to information given from the Permanent Mission of Turkey to the UN, Turkish Police Service was contributing in UN Peacekeeping Operations since 1996 in different places of the world.
Since 1996, a total of 2,100 police officers served in the UN Peacekeeping missions and in different units or programs of UN. At the moment, there are 179 Turkish police officers serving at the UN Peacekeeping Operations, Development Program, UN Office on Drugs and Crime.
Among those 179 police officers, 9 of them are women. Furthermore, Turkish police currently serves in the countries including Haiti, Sudan, South Sudan, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Libya, Kosovo, Ethiopia, East Timor, Indonesia, Afghanistan, Somalia and Egypt.
