Several Turkish politicians have been named among most influential figures on social media, according to a survey carried out by French news agency AFP.

Several Turkish politicians have been named among most influential figures on social media, according to a survey carried out by French news agency AFP.

Turkish President Abdullah Gul topped the list in the category of "officials" with some 2.3 million followers on Twitter and 2,280 points at AFP's "e-diplomacy Hub."  
Turkey's European Union Minister Egemen Bagis ranked 9th with 417 thousand followers and 434 points as Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu placed 11th with 407 thousand followers and 403 points. Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc claimed the 11th spot with 256 thousand followers and 256 points.
Turkish president's office, Cankaya, also made to the Twitter list at the seventh spot with with 539 thousand followers and 539 points.  
Gul ranked 8th in the overall rating as Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan placed 12th and 5th on the list of "most influential heads of state and government.
