Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan will meet with Arab League Secretary General Nabil Elaraby.
A statement from the Arab League said Erdogan and Alaraby will discuss Israel's offensive on Gaza and latest developments in Syria in the meeting during the Turkish premier's visit to Egypt to participate in a gathering of the Turkey-Egypt High Level Strategic Cooperation Council.
The statement said the Erdogan-Alaraby meeting will discuss possible measures to end Israeli attacks on Gaza as well as the blockade on the Gaza Strip.
Erdogan and Obama had agreed the clashes must stop immediately
Turkish premier earlier held a phone talk with US President Barack Obama on Israel's offensive on the Gaza Strip.
Turkish Prime Ministry said two leaders expressed joint concern that the current tension could negatively affect the peace process and the region.
Sources said Erdogan and Obama had agreed that the clashes must stop immediately without further escalation of the tension and they expressed that they would hold the necessary talks to secure a truce.
Erdogan and Putin talk over phone
Moreover, Erdogan and Russian President Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation on Israel's offensive on the Gaza Strip.
Two leaders exchanged views over the tension and they underlined the importance of securing a truce to make sure that the tension does not get worse.
Sources also said Erdogan and Putin briefed each other over their respective talks over the tension.
