ISTANBUL (AA) - September 16, 2012 - Two jets of Turkish national air carrier, Turkish Airlines (THY) had to return to Istanbul on Sunday after being unable to land at airports in Libya due to concerns of security.
A THY plane with 139 passengers departed from Ataturk Airport for Tripoli but it could not land at Tripoli as the airport was closed due to security concerns and it returned to Istanbul.
The other plane carrying 138 passengers also could not land at Misrata and returned to Istanbul.
