ANKARA
The unemployment rate in Turkey has been announced to be 10.1 percent in March 2013 when compared to same term of the previous year.
Turkish statistics authority, TurkStat, released Monday the household labor force figures for March 2013.
Accordingly, the number of unemployed people increased by 186 thousand in the period of March 2013 and reached 2 million and 801 thousand in Turkey.
Number of employed people reached 24 million and 974 thousand from 23 million and 817 thousand in the period of March 2013 over the same term of 2012.
Labor force participation rate (LFPR) was noted 50.2 percent with 1.6 percentage point increase compared to the same period of the previous year for Turkey in March 2013 period.
