ANKARA

Istanbul Police have arrested Liridon Rexhepi, whom the Turkish National Intelligence Organization (MIT) identified as the head of Mossad's financial network in Türkiye, security sources said on Tuesday.

According to the sources, Rexhepi managed the financial operations of the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad in Türkiye.

It was also revealed that, under instructions from the Israeli intelligence service, Rexhepi conducted drone surveillance and psychological operations against Palestinian politicians.

He was found to have transferred funds to field agents in Türkiye who were gathering intelligence on Syria.

Rexhepi's activities, including suspicious transactions in his accounts, were monitored by MIT.

The investigation determined that he transferred significant amounts of money via Western Union to field agents in Türkiye. His activities had been tracked since his entry into the country on Aug. 25.

Rexhepi, who was detained on Aug. 30 by MIT and Istanbul Police, admitted to transferring money.
