Turkish President Erdogan, Azerbaijani president discuss bilateral ties

ISTANBUL

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev on Saturday held a phone call to discuss bilateral ties as well as regional and global issues, according to Türkiye’s Communications Directorate.

During the call, Erdogan emphasized that Türkiye and Azerbaijan will continue to develop their cooperation with the understanding of “one nation, two states.”

The Turkish president also extended his Eid greetings to Aliyev.

In a separate phone call with Ersin Tatar, the president of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Erdogan said that Ankara's support to Turkish Cypriots will continue, "as has always been the case."

Erdogan extended Eid greetings to Tatar and all the Turkish Cypriots.

For his part, Tatar also extended Eid greetings to Erdogan and the Turkish nation
