Turkish-made multipurpose armored vehicles, Vuran 4x4, manufactured by the BMC, were delivered to the Defense Forces of Georgia during a ceremony on Wednesday at the infantry brigade in Vaziani, near the capital Tbilisi.

The ceremony was attended by Turkish Ambassador Ali Kaan Orbay, Deputy Defense Minister Sergo Janelidze, Brigadier General Irakli Chichinadze, Military Factory and Shipyard Management’s (ASFAT) General Manager Behcet Karatas, as well as ASFAT officials, among others.

“These vehicles are concrete proof of Türkiye’s support for Georgia’s security and integrity,” Orbay told Anadolu following the ceremony.

Citing Türkiye’s up to 80% domestic production and input, Orbay noted that Türkiye can meet Georgia’s needs, as he hopes for continued cooperation in every field.

Janelidze said Türkiye and Georgia have been successfully cooperating in the defense field for some time, and the ceremony marks the day Georgia received NATO-standard armored vehicles from Türkiye.

He added that the transfer not only strengthens Georgia's defense capabilities, but it also contributes to bilateral cooperation.
