Turkish parliament speaker congratulates Kyrgyzstan on Independence Day

ISTANBUL 

Turkish Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmus on Saturday congratulated Kyrgyzstan on the 33rd anniversary of the independence of the Central Asian country.

“We celebrate the Independence Day of the friendly country Kyrgyzstan and wish well-being to the brotherly Kyrgyz people,” Kurtulmus said in a post on X account of Turkish parliament.

The Republic of Kyrgyzstan, which declared its independence on Aug. 31, 1991 after the collapse of the Soviet Union, celebrates 33rd anniversary of its independence.

Türkiye and Kyrgyzstan signed a joint statement on the establishment of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council in 2012. The two nations are also the founding members of the Organization of Turkic States, which aims to promote comprehensive cooperation among Turkic states.
