Bilisim Vadisi Tech Development Zone to host hackathon in Greece
ISTANBUL
Turkish technopark Bilisim Vadisi Technology Development Zone will organize incubation programs in Europe starting with a “hackathon” in Greece, CEO Erkam Tuzgen told Anadolu Monday.
A hackathon is an event for programmers and developers to collaborate, solve problems, and compete in projects.
Tuzgen said the technopark organized a six-month incubation program in Azerbaijan and they will now expand to Eastern Europe.
“The number of companies operating within our structure is over 700, with domestic and international investments, and we hosted over 6,000 students in our events last year,” he said.
Founded in 2019, Bilisim Vadisi has campuses in Istanbul, Izmir on the Turkish Aegean, and Azerbaijan’s capital Baku.
Tuzgen said they will establish an incubation center in Istanbul, the nation’s commercial capital, for entrepreneurs and developers in Türkiye and from all over the world.
The technopark has been undertaking various activities to train Türkiye’s human resources in technology, including 42 Türkiye, an education project for computer science.
“More than 120 teams from Türkiye applied for the hackathon we will hold in Greece this year, with the first part here in Türkiye. The final part of the hackathon and the award ceremony will take place in Greece,” he said.
