ANKARA / ISTANBUL

Türkiye and Ukraine signed two bilateral agreements on education and media cooperation on Tuesday in a ceremony attended by the Turkish and Ukrainian presidents.

The agreements were formalized following one-on-one talks between Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the capital Ankara.

Turkish National Education Minister Yusuf Tekin and Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of education between the Turkish government and Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers.

Turkish Communications Director Fahrettin Altun and Sybiha, meanwhile, signed a memorandum of understanding on media and communication cooperation between Türkiye’s Communications Directorate and Ukraine’s Culture and Strategic Communications Ministry.

“We have taken an important step to further strengthen relations between Türkiye and Ukraine in the field of media and communication,” Altun said on X.

“The memorandum of understanding, which we signed in the presence of our President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, will encourage the exchange of information and experience between our countries.”

Altun expressed confidence that the agreement would facilitate collaboration on media initiatives and contribute to a deeper mutual understanding.
