At least 15 people were killed on Friday in India's western state of Rajasthan after a high-voltage wire fell on a bus, local media reported.
Local official Rekha Gupta confirmed the immediate death of 15 and burn injuries to 10 others when a 33-kilovolt high voltage power line broke and fell on the moving bus.
The accident happened near Sans village on the outskirts of Tonk district as the bus, carrying members of a marriage party, was heading to a wedding ceremony.
"The bus incident at Tonk, Rajasthan is very heart-rending. My thoughts are with the families of those who lost their lives," Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in a statement.
The Rajasthan government has announced a $7,800 compensation package for the family of each of the dead.
