Three Greek Cypriot police officers appeared in a Turkish Cypriot court on Tuesday after violating a military zone and getting sentenced to one day in prison.

The Greek Cypriot police officers were arrested on Monday by Turkish Cypriot officials for carrying explosive devices and weapons and entering the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) illegally.
A military court in the TRNC accused the three Greek Cypriot police officers for illegally entering a military zone with a police car and a police motorcycle on September 30.
The military court released the three Greek Cypriot police officers after they apologized and expressed repentance with the condition that they pay a bail of 10,000 Turkish liras. The military court, however, sent the defendants to a civilian court for carrying weapons and being held responsible for battery.
The three Greek Cypriot police officers were taken to the Lefkosa Accidents Court following their trial at the military court.
