At least six people were reportedly killed Saturday after a female suicide bomber struck outside a popular market in Nigeria's northeastern Maiduguri city.
"About six people died after a female suicide bomber struck outside the Monday market. The casualties included the suicide bomber herself," Jubrin Gunda, spokesman of the Civilian Joint Task Force, told The Anadolu Agency by phone.
Gunda said security agents have cordoned off the area, with local vigilante frisking people around the area.
"The emergency responders are also here," he added.
The market was attacked at least three times last year, each time claiming several lives.
