Holland's Foreign Minister Uri Rosenthal has eulogised Turkey for its assistance to Syrian people who are currently staying in the southern cities of Turkey after escaping from violence in Syria.
Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu came together on Friday with his Dutch counterpart Uri Rosenthal over working breakfast in Istanbul.
Diplomatic sources said that both ministers addressed Syria issue during their meeting.
Dutch minister Rosenthal conveyed his observation during his visit on Thursday to the camps in southern province of Kilis where thousands of Syrian people are currently staying.
Roshenthal praised Turkey's efforts to host Syrian people.
Meanwhile, Turkish FM Davutoglu stated that Turkey had looked after everyone who wanted to take refuge in Turkey throughout its history without any discrimination.
Diplomatic sources said that Iran's nuclear program was also discussed at the meeting.
Syrian regime lost control over most of country
Rosenthal said on Friday that Syrian regime has lost control over most of the country.
Speaking to reporters after he met with Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu over working breakfast in Istanbul, Rosenthal said that he had visited camps in southern province of Kilis where thousands of Syrian people were currently staying.
Turkey's efforts for Syrians deserved admiration, he said.
Replying to a question, Rosenthal said that the Netherlands had similar concerns with Turkey regarding chemical weapons in Syria.
Answering a question on a "safe zone" in Syria, he said that such a zone could be established but Russia and China, two important members of the UN Security Council, opposed such a measure.
Upon another question, Rosenthal said that certainly PKK was a terrorist organization, adding that the Netherlands was against violence and terrorism.
