A magnitude-5 quake hit China’s northwestern Xinjiang province on Sunday, but caused no damage according to local media .
Xinhua news agency reported that the quake was measured at a depth of around 4 kilometers in Shawan County, but there were no reports of casualties or damage to property.
Local resident Wang Jianan told Xinhua that a lamp in her second floor room swung for about 20 seconds, while a resident of Korla City - which is more than 300 kilometers away - said her kitchen table shook when the quake happened.
All those in the building rushed outside, Jianan added.
Rescue vehicles were dispatched to the epicenter, and authorities said that they would follow up on the impact.
