CAIRO
A presidential candidate of Egypt's Freedom and Justice Party, Mohammed Mursi, said on Tuesday that the presidential elections were decent and trustable.
Speaking at a press conference in Cairo, Mursi thanked the Egyptian people for the high turnout of voters.
We had a decent, healthy and trustable election. Minor problems can not place a shadow on the results of the elections, Mursi said.
I will institutionalize the office of the president in Egypt. Mohammed Mursi will likely be the president of Egypt. As a president, I will not decide alone. When I become the president, I will be the president of all Egyptians. I will have advisers who will be listened to, Mursi stressed.
The era of superman has ended. All political parties elected by the people will have a place in the government of Egypt. It is not a necessity for the prime minister to be from the Freedom and Justice Party, Mursi noted.
As soon as I get elected president, I will resign as the leader of the Freedom and Justice Party, Mursi stated.
The second tour of Egyptian presidential elections will take place between Mursi and Ahmed Shafiq, Egypt's last prime minister under Mubarak, on June 16 and 17.
