Four people have been shot and killed at Kabul International Airport in Afghanistan Thursday evening, said U.S.-led coalition forces media office in a statement.
Three U.S. contractors and an Afghan national were killed when a man reportedly dressed in Afghan military clothing opened fire inside the airport.
"We can confirm that there was a shooting incident at North Kabul International Airport complex on Jan. 29," said the U.S. military in a statement. "Three coalition contractors were killed as was an Afghan local national."
The statement did not disclose whether the attacker was a member of Afghan national military or if he had used the uniform to enter the compound. It has also not been disclosed if the attacker is among the dead.
NATO-led forces have used the northern part of Kabul's international airport in the past 13 years of military involvement in Afghanistan.
