ANKARA (AA) - Indian Foreign Minister Salman Khurshid said that the action plan which was agreed between Turkey and India for 2014-2016 would bring about greater economic co-operation and investment.
In an official visit in Turkey, Khurshid stated that Turkey-India relations were in a new chapter.
"We share the same destiny" said Khurshid adding:
"I know that Turkey is important in Western world as much as India that is important in Eastern world. It is time for two countries to realize each other. Both of them have important roles. The link between Turkey and India will be good not only for their own people but also good for global community."
Touching upon the countries' agreement on a new chapter plan for the period of 2014-2016, Khurshid said he and his Turkish counterpart Ahmet Davuotglu had labored over the plan.
"This new action plan will strengthen the defense and strategic cooperation as well as culture, education, science, technology, sports and the links between the people of two countries. The agreed action plan for 2014-2016 will bring about greater economic co-operation and investment" said Khurshid.
Khurshid, pointing out that his visit meant a new beginning for India and Turkey, said the further visit of President Pranab Mukherjee would strengthen the relations much more.
"There is a new beginning in the relations of two countries. This time, it will not be only a new period it will also be an exciting period" said Khurshid.
