TEHRAN
Iranian administration on Sunday announced they would remain loyal to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) and would continue to cooperate with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
In a statement made on Sunday, Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) said that Iran was not in an effort to manufacture nuclear weapons, as some argued, and would remain loyal to the NPT.
Iran's statement came after they were criticized at the UN General Assembly during a meeting on the NPT.
While Iran says their nuclear activities are for peaceful purposes only, the United States and the West argue that Iran has the intention to manufacture nuclear weapons.
